Snopac owns and operates the M/V Snopac Innovator, a processing ship, and a shore plant in Dillingham, Alaska.
• The M/V Snopac Innovator is a floating processor. We purchase all the seafood we process from fishermen – the Snopac Innovator is not a catcher boat or a catcher-processor. The vessel is 328 feet long by 50 feet wide. Crewmembers live and work onboard the vessel during all seasons. Our normal seafood processing operations take place in Alaska.
• The Dillingham shore plant is located in a remote location in Dillingham, Alaska. Crewmembers live and work at housing provided by the company near the plant.
• Snopac is committed to providing a safe work environment that is alcohol and drug free. As a condition of employment you will be subject to periodic random drug testing. M/V Snopac Innovator fully supports and adheres to the U.S. Coast Guard “Zero Tolerance” policies.
• Snopac requires all crewmembers to speak and read English well enough to safely and proficiently live and perform work aboard the vessel or at the plant.
• Federal law requires each employee to complete an I-9 form verifying his/her employment eligibility. You must have photo ID and valid permission to work in the U.S. See the I-9 form for a complete list of acceptable documents. You are required to keep your ID with you at all times while onboard the vessel or in your living space for random INS, U.S. Coast Guard, or U.S. Customs Service visits to Snopac. The vessel will transit out of and back into U.S. waters on voyages between Seattle and Alaska.
• Employees of Snopac are employed at will and employment may be terminated at any time, with or without cause and with or without notice, by the employer and/or the employee.
• It is Snopac’s intention to provide a work environment free from all verbal, physical and visual forms of harassment. All employees are expected to be sensitive to and respectful of their co-workers and others, with whom they come into contact while representing Snopac. We prohibit all forms of harassment, whether due to sex, sexual orientation, race, color, national origin, marital status, age, religion, disability or any other legally protected status.
• Cleanliness is vital in a food processing operation. We expect Snopac employees to maintain exceptionally high standards of personal hygiene. Failure to practice good housekeeping or personal hygiene is grounds for termination.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
